📖 Birth Pangs of the End Times — Episode 8 — The Gospel of the Kingdom (Matthew 24:14)
Jesus said, “This gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed in all the world as a testimony to all nations — and then the end will come.”
What is the gospel of the kingdom? How is it different from the gospel of salvation? And what does it mean for us today as disciples of King Jesus?
In this episode of the End-Time Disciples Podcast, we open Matthew 24:14 and trace the kingdom theme from Genesis to Revelation.
Along the way, we explore how Jesus proclaimed the kingdom, why He called Himself the Son of Man, and the five essential components of the gospel of the kingdom.
We also face the sobering reality: every person must decide which kingdom they will submit to — and that decision carries everlasting consequences.

[00:00:00] Jesus said, this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed in all the world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. In the next hour, you'll learn what Jesus meant by the gospel of the kingdom and how it differs from the gospel of salvation, why he called himself the son of man, and how God commands every person to transfer allegiance from darkness to light.
We discuss why most Christians today live in an unspoken truce with the devil and the permanent consequences for everyone who rejects Jesus's lordship. The end of Satan's kingdom is near. But first, the gospel of the kingdom must be proclaimed. Find out what that means for us today.
Welcome to episode eight of the End Times Disciples podcast. Today I've got Pastor Ryan Perry with me, and his two sons. Go ahead. My name is Xavier Perry. My name is Corbin Perry. I'm a youth pastor in Oklahoma. [00:01:00] Ryan Perry. I'm the pastor of Good Hope Baptist Church, and I'm Major Tom, Doctor of Ministry. All right.
Biblical Foundation for Global Gospel Proclamation
Today we're in Matthew 24:14. Would you read that for us, please? Yes. So in Matthew chapter 24, verse 14, it says, in this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
Alright, pastor, you wanna open this up? Yeah. This is something that's, talked about all the time, right? If you go to the National Bible Museum in DC you'll see where the Bible's been translated into thousands of languages. So if we look through the flow of the Bible we start with this idea of Genesis 12:3, where Abraham's promise that his family would be a blessing to the whole Earth.
And when you look at Psalms 22:27, it says, all the ends of the earth shall [00:02:00] remember and turn to Yahweh, and all the families of the nations shall worship before you. And then Isaiah 2:2-3 it lets us know that the nations will stream to the mountain of the Lord, which is Mount Mariah Israel.
And then Isaiah 49:6. This is the, that's where the temple mount is, right? That's the Temple Mount. Yeah. The servant has a light for the nations that my salvation may reach the ends of the earth. So on Mount Mariah, that's also the place where it's thought that Abraham took Isaac to sacrifice him (Genesis 22).
() Isaiah 52:10 says, all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of God. Daniel 7:13-14 says, the son of man given dominion over all people's nations and languages. I'm gonna talk about that one more. Yeah. And then when you look at Jesus, of course, the Great Commission, Matthew 28:18-20, he tells us to go [00:03:00] and make disciples of all nations.
Mark 13:10 says what Matthew 24:14 says that the gospel be proclaimed all nations. Luke 24:46-47, it says, repentance for forgiveness of sins shall be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. John 10:16 it says, I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also and they will listen to my voice.
Now, this is used by the Mormons to say that Jesus came to America. But what this is actually talking about is the Gentiles, plural, so outside Israel. John 12:32 says, and I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself. And the cool thing about Greek, the word all. It means all, but there's no tricky meaning to that.
Jesus as King and Son of Man
That literally means all. And then in Acts 1:8, it says that he [00:04:00] tells the disciples that they'll be witnesses in Jerusalem and Judea and Samaria to the ends of the earth. And then Paul is called by God. It tells us in Acts 13:47 that he started with the Jews and then now he's going out to be the light to the Gentiles to bring salvation to the end of the earth.
In Acts 17:30-31 it says, God commands all people everywhere to repent. And so then a Paul in his writing, as you look through Romans and Colossians and First Timothy, you'll see where it's talking about people, the gospel being proclaimed and bearing fruit all over the world.
So this theme of all over the world so God calls his chosen people Israel. And it starts through Abraham because Abraham, Isaac Jacob is where we get Israel. And Israel is God will prevail, right? And so Israel is where we [00:05:00] get the idea for Judaism and it's where the Mosaic law is through.
And they were meant to be the light to all the world to show them that Yahweh is the true God. And so Jesus then comes and lives among them and does exactly that. And now his disciples, which become known as the apostles, when they're sent -- what apostle means, they're sent -- and when they're sent out we get the spreading of the word to all the nations.
And then we look at eschatology, which what we're talking about in this podcast, we get into Revelation starting in Revelation 5:9. It says, the Lamb ransomed people from every tribe and language and people and nation. And who's the Lamb? That's Jesus. Okay, good.
Revelation 7:9-10, a great multitude of all the nations will be standing before the throne of God.
And Revelations 14:6, it says, an angel proclaimed the eternal [00:06:00] gospel to every nation, tribe, language, and people. So together all of this shows a unified biblical theology of the mission of it not being in one small place that God doesn't want there to be just a remnant of people that come to him. He wants everybody to come to him.
And it started with Abraham. It goes through his family into Jesus, because Jesus was part of his family. Jesus is in Abraham's genealogy, and then that then spreads to the whole world where we get to call ourselves children of Abraham, though we're not part of that genealogy because we're grafted in.
And so spreading the word to all the nations that's what it's been going on for a long time. There's a little bit of question of whether every nation has heard the gospel in their tongue.
So when you say nation, it's not political entity. It's an ethnic group, right?
An [00:07:00] ethnic group, yeah. An ethnos.
So maybe like Wycliffe and those organizations, they exist in order to bring the word to every people group, every ethnos, yeah, every ethnic group. And so you're saying that maybe some of them haven't been reached yet?
Yeah. That there's a question to that. But when you think about it if you're modernized in the least bit, you're gonna hear it on the radio, on television, on the internet.
Now, in places like North Korea, China, maybe you're limited to that, maybe it's not available, but there's still missionaries in those places and people who risk their lives to spread the gospel. So the gospel spread, and also in Romans, it tells us that the gospel spread just through nature itself, that it proclaims God's glory and the stars Yes, stars in heaven.
So that, that proclaims God's glory. So our purpose as Christians is to do this very thing not just with [00:08:00] our words, but with our actions. Yeah.
You got anything? Yeah. I would like to add that through a Southern Baptist Mission organization places where we don't have enough money to send missionaries, or it is just too dangerous to go, they've started putting up signs in Muslim, middle Eastern communities that say, if you've seen this white man in a beard, give us a call at this number.
And they've had thousands of phone calls of people who are saying these things.
So we truly are starting to reach all nations. Yeah.
All right. I'm gonna take a little bit of a different angle at it. In Matthew 24:14 it says "this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world, and then the end will come."
The Five Components of the Gospel of the Kingdom
So I'm gonna concentrate on the part of this where it says the kingdom, the gospel of the kingdom. And at the end of this podcast, I'll give you a proclamation of the kingdom of God, the way I imagine it having been said. All right? [00:09:00] But first I want to explain the components of this message, the gospel of the kingdom, which I think is very similar to what you're saying.
It's about Jesus being the king and his kingdom invading Satan's world system of darkness, sin, suffering, and death. Before the cross, Jesus started all four gospels with proclaiming the kingdom of God.
John the Baptist prepared the way. Yeah. And he started it out before Jesus actually. Yeah. But it was all about the kingdom. It wasn't about salvation yet, specifically John the Baptist said, behold the lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. So yeah, from that perspective, yeah, it was, but when they both spoke about the kingdom and they were kingdom focused, which is a little different of the their perspective.
And I think as I explain this, you'll understand what I mean. But Jesus started out by saying repent for the kingdom of God as at hand. And [00:10:00] it hadn't come yet, but it was at hand. It was imminent. And what he was really saying was I, Jesus am the deliverer. I'm the messiah. I am the king promised to all mankind for thousands of years.
All the way back.
You can go to Genesis 3:15 and you know the seed of the woman.
You can go to Abraham and through his seed, all the nations of the earth would be blessed.
The Davidic covenant, or the covenant with David, said that David's descendant would forever inhabit the throne of Israel.
And so when you're talking about the eternal or everlasting Messiah, which Jesus is, and Emmanuel God with us, he's born of a virgin. And so Jesus came proclaiming the kingdom of God.
And Jesus continued, he said, "And he has [00:11:00] given the son of man authority to execute judgment because he is the son of man."
So he said, I'm the son of God.
But now he says, I have authority to execute judgment because I'm the son of man, and I'm gonna explain that in a minute. Do not marvel at this. He said, for an hour is coming, when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice and come out. Those who have done good to the resurrection of life, those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment.
All right, so let's talk about this phrase, the son of man
and before you get there. So gospel means good news or too good to be true news, right?
And so Jesus, when he begins to proclaim the kingdom here's what he says. It comes from Isaiah 61. It says, the spirit of the Lord God is upon me because Yahweh has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and the opening of the [00:12:00] prison to those who are bound to proclaim the year of Yahweh's favor and the day of vengeance of our God to comfort all who mourn.
And so this is what the kingdom is. That's right. So Isaiah 61:1-3, tells us. This is the Kingdom of Heaven or the kingdom of God, they're the same thing. This is what they are. And so in instead of evil ruling, which is what Adam allowed now through us Jesus' advocates. So you think about it this way, we can get really deep into the unseen realm and say, so Satan's advocates being the fallen angels. They ruled.
They still rule.
Yeah. They were his advocates
Over the nations. God, in Deuteronomy 32:8. Yeah. God gave the principalities and powers [00:13:00] control over the nations. Yes. Until the Tower of Babel, basically all the nations were run under God rule. But then at the Tower of Babel he divided the nations according to the number of the sons of God, that principalities of powers.
And then he delegated authority to the principalities of powers over each nation to 70 nations, in Genesis, chapter 10, table of Nations and from then on the nations of the world have been under the dominion and governing control from the spiritual realm of these principalities and powers.
And that's why Ephesians chapter 6 talks about us wrestling against the principalities and powers.
Which then, depending on what viewpoint you look at, Christians, were to then take over that and take the kingdom of heaven wherever they went, right? And transform not only the physical, but the spiritual realm in which they were in.
And so that's where you can [00:14:00] see a big difference in America. Because that was done here. So, no matter what people try to say today if you look at the history of the people who set up the United States of America, they set it up in the sense of following the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
If you look at the Constitution, it is set up by Deuteronomy. I mean, how can you be convicted? Two or three witnesses, wonder where they got that idea from? Just so on and so on, it comes out of God's law. And it was established in that way. And so where it's beginning to fall apart here in the United States because we're falling away from that, this nation was actually blessed and brought up in Yahweh.
And because of that, this nation has been extremely blessed. But now it's beginning to fall away. And not to get deep into that. Let's go into the son of man.
All right, so in the passage I read before [00:15:00] he talked about I'm the Son of God. Then he also said, I have the authority to judge, be the judge over the souls of man because I am the son of man.
And so the son of man concept comes from Daniel chapter seven, verses 13 and 14, the one you read before and that those verses say I saw in the night, visions and behold with the clouds of heaven. There came one like a son of man and he came to the ancient of days and was presented before him.
And to him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom that all people's nations and languages should serve him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away. And his kingdom one that shall not be destroyed. So that's the prophecy that all of the Jewish rabbis and leaders knew, and Jesus also knew, and he called himself the son of man.
And he's going back to this [00:16:00] prophecy that this son of man was given dominion and glory and kingdom for every nation and all peoples on the earth to serve him. And his dominion would never pass away. His kingdom would never be destroyed. So at the end of his earthly ministry, Jesus testimony to the high priest when he's just before he is crucified, when he's being condemned, this is for a reason why he was condemned.
In Mark 14:61-64, he says that Jesus remains silent and made no answer in answer to their accusations. Again, the high priest asked him, are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed? And Jesus said, I AM. And you'll see the son of man seated at the right hand of power and coming with the clouds of heaven.
And the high priest tore his garments and said, what further witnesses do we [00:17:00] need? You have heard his blasphemy. What is your decision? And they all condemned him as deserving death.
So, this 'son of man' wording. Jesus used it many times in reference to himself. At his final trial, before he was crucified, this was the thing that caused him to be condemned by the Jewish leaders because he said, I AM.
And when he said that, what do you think of? He could have really possibly said Cher, which is what God said to Moses, right? On when Moses says, who do you say that at? The burning bush. Yeah. Who do I, who am I supposed to say sent me? Yeah. And so this is where we get Yahweh from.
And I AM that I AM.
I am. Yes. Yeah. It actually means he is that he is. Yeah. Because you wouldn't go. Yeah. I wouldn't say who's the God? I am that I, 'cause then it gets confusing. So it actually means he is that he is. But when he said Cher, he's saying I am. That I am. Which [00:18:00] means that I created and nothing created me.
And so when we look at this son of man idea, it is all over scripture. Yeah. When you look at Psalms 2:7-9, it says that the son is given the nations as an inheritance. You look at Psalm 72:8-11, the king will rule from sea to sea and all the nations will serve him.
Psalm 110:1-2. You always said, to my Lord, Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies, your footstool.
Isaiah 9:6-7. The government shall be upon his shoulders and of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end. And you can go on and on. It talks about Isaiah 11:1-10 we see where the shoot that comes from, Jesse which is David onto Jesus. The nations will seek him.
We know this isn't talking about David because [00:19:00] David's already been by this time. So that it is a huge thing. And then Jesus, of course, talks about it over and over again, calling himself the son of man.
He is very plainly pointing out exactly who he is and what he's going to do.
Now he's not coming out saying, I'm the king of Israel and I'm the eternal king of Israel. He's not saying it quite that explicitly. But he is using these phrases, son of man he called himself the son of God in that one verse I read a minute ago and said, I AM. In the gospel, John, for example, there's about 10 times when he says I AM the good shepherd. I AM the the light of the world. All these different things where he said I AM. There's seven of 'em that are like, I am the good shepherd. Seven of those. And then there's three other ones that really are more connected to the I AM that we're talking about in Genesis.
And one really cool thing that
Exodus rather sorry,
that people [00:20:00] miss outta this, is Jesus quotes Psalm 118, that he is the stone that the builders rejected.
So looking at Daniel's prophecy, Daniel tells us about these kingdoms, and then what happens to all these kingdoms? It tells us
Daniel chapter two.
Yes. It tells us that's this rock that is not created by human hands.
A little stone that's cut out not by human hands.
Yes. So then this chosen precious cornerstone, which then Peter takes this right. And he articulates it. But when we look at Daniel, Daniel 2:34-35, and it says in Nebuchadnezzar's Dream, a stone was cut out by no human hand. And it struck the image on its feet of iron and clay, and it broke them into pieces. But the stone that struck the image became a great mountain and filled the whole earth.
So the little stone is the kingdom of God. Yeah. Starts out [00:21:00] small and not cut out by human hands, so it's a divine thing. Yeah. And it hits the image. Now the describe to the people what the image was all about. Yeah. So the image was all the different kingdoms that would rule until God's kingdom of heaven came.
There's an image of a big man. Yes. 60 feet tall. Yep. And it had a gold chest of silver waist of iron. No, waist of bronze. Bronze. And then the legs were ironing mixed with clay feet. Yep. So this huge image was an idol. And he told everybody he had to bow down to it, right? But then Daniel saw this little rock that shattered it, and it hit it at his feet, right?
Yes. So that's supposedly the end time was hit at his feet, right? And it shattered the whole image and destroyed it forever. So that's saying that the kingdom of God starts out small, but it's gonna shatter that world system of government forever, and then it's gonna [00:22:00] grow into the whole world.
Most scholars would tell you that, so it starts out with Babylon Medo-Persia, Greece, Rome and then there's a question of, is it the European nations and Islam because of the split, where does that come about?
How does that play? Would it be the new age Kingdoms, along with the Kingdom of the Beast, the antichrist in Revelation. But what we do know is that the world is headed to a one world government. And so the Antichrist and Jesus are both working towards the one world government, the antichrist, of course, wanting to consolidate the whole world for evil.
And Jesus wanting to consolidate the whole world for good, for God, for his creation. One thing that we can think about that also Christians don't really understand when the thief is on the cross, what does Jesus [00:23:00] tell him? He says, you'll be with me. Where in paradise? And does anybody know what the word for paradise in Hebrew is?
Eden. Eden? So today you will be with me in Eden. The world creation began in paradise. That's where Adam and Eve began in paradise. And that's where we're returning to. And that's the kingdom of heaven. And the whole point of Adam and Eve was to cultivate the entire earth and make it all Eden paradise.
And so that's what our call is.
Yeah, God told Adam to have dominion over the whole earth and everything that's in it. And that's what Jesus is claiming now. When Jesus came to the earth he never sinned. So he didn't fall into sin like we all did somewhere in our life. So he wasn't tainted by that.
As a result. He was the second Adam. It says in the New [00:24:00] Testament that he is the second Adam. He was able to exercise the dominion that God gave to mankind through Adam, because he was not defiled by sin. So therefore, he was able to exercise dominion as the king over the earth.
I'm gonna, I'm gonna go to a little different topic now.
Can I add one more thing to the rock part, 'cause it's important? So in Matthew 16:18, the Catholics take that Jesus was saying Peter was the rock in which he was gonna build his church. But actually Peter said that Jesus was the Christ, the Son of the living God.
And Jesus says that statement right there, that's the rock on which hell will not overtake. And that's the true statement. That's the true place. Is that Jesus being the Christ, the son of a living God, that's never going to be overtaken by evil.
So it's the [00:25:00] revelation. Jesus told Peter, he said, no man has revealed this to you.
Yes, but my father in heaven. Yes. And upon this rock. Yes. In other words, the revelation that the father gave to Peter Yes. That revelation upon that rock, then he would build his ekklesia. (church).
Yes. Because they were literally standing next to the place in Israel, which was called the Gates of Hell. And so during that time period, kingdoms were known by their gods. And so he was saying, these kingdoms won't take over my kingdom. Which is this same idea that Daniel
and the thing to me, the interesting thing is. He actually went to Caesarea Philippi where this idol worshiping center was, and up on Mount Hermon, which is where the 200 angels came down, and defiled themselves with women. And then they had the giants, [00:26:00] nephilim, and all that back in Genesis chapter six. But Jesus went there and he was basically going to that place on purpose. To poke the devil.
And just a caveat, if you just heard Tom say 2000 angels coming down on Mount Hermon, and you're flipping through your Bible going, where is he getting this? He's actually getting this from First Enoch which is extra biblical source.
But the Jews during Jesus' time so in Peter and Jude, you can see where they actually quote from the book of Enoch. So we are not saying that the book of Enoch should be scripture, but we're saying that it was an extra biblical source in which first century knew about and first century was well read in enough that Peter and Jude would use them as reference points.
And Genesis six says, the [00:27:00] sons of God. And that's a controversial phrase because there's three different ways of looking at that. Yeah. But the correct way is that it was these angels from Enoch.
'Cause Israel didn't exist yet, so it couldn't be the sons of Israel. Yeah. Any, in order to believe the other ways of looking at that phrase, you have to be of the mind that supernatural things don't happen.
You have to be a materialistic person to say the other ways is what happened. And that's, those are basically excuses to explain those verses apart from supernatural things.
You have to be a Sadducee and tell Jesus resurrection doesn't happen. Exactly. Yeah. Yeah. All right.
So I just got done talking about Jesus saying, I AM the son of the blessed, the Christ, the Messiah, and you will see the son of man seated at the right hand of power and coming with the clouds of heaven, which referred back to Daniel chapter seven. [00:28:00] Alright? Now, Jesus, we all know was crucified, went into the ground for three days or into the grave, and then was resurrected, right?
He is the Lamb of God according to John the Baptist. And in the New Testament says that in many ways. But he's the Lamb of God, takes away the sins of the world. He's the Passover Lamb in Leviticus 23 the moedim, the appointed times of God, he is the fulfillment of the spring festivals, which are the Passover, unleavened bread, first fruits is the resurrection. And then Pentecost, when the Lord sent the Holy Spirit to the church in Acts chapter two. So he fulfilled the spring festivals. Now when Jesus was rejected and crucified, that was Satan's attempt to dethrone him as the king in order to eliminate Jesus [00:29:00] as the king.
Understanding Authority and Spiritual Warfare
And he didn't realize that he was playing right into God's plan. And First Corinthians 2:8 says, if they would've realize this, they wouldn't have crucified Jesus because they just defeated themselves when they killed Jesus. And then his resurrection validated and vindicated Jesus and made him the Lord of glory forever.
Now, after the resurrection, Jesus is seated at the right hand of God, which you read many verses that said that. And he's enthroned above all principalities and powers we just talked about that those principalities and powers were given rights to control the dominion over the nations right after the Tower of Babel.
And that's still the case right now. Daniel chapter 10 talks about the Prince of Persia and the Prince of Greece and how they fight and prevented the angel from coming to Daniel to give him revelation. [00:30:00] So that hasn't changed yet, even after the cross, but, but Jesus, through the church is about to change that because Satan and his angels, including these principalities and powers, are going to be cast down from their heavenly place to the earth, and they'll come down in great wrath it says in Revelation chapter 12, because they know their time is short. We will have the great tribulation for three and a half years when that happens. But for the last 1900 years, 1900 plus years since the crucifixion and resurrection, Jesus has seated at the right hand of God waiting for his disciples, that's us, to put his enemies under his feet. Hebrews 10 verses 12 to 14 say, when Christ had offered all for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God waiting from that time [00:31:00] until his enemies should be made a footstool for his feet, for by a single offering. He has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.
Now, that's a really powerful statement because if you are one of the people who are being sanctified, then that last verse 14, Hebrews 10, says that he has already made you perfect. And that agrees with Romans Chapter 8 verse 30 says, those whom he predestined, he also called those whom he called, he also justified and those whom he justified, he also glorified. And glorified is in the past tense in that one. So if you are one of these people which I hope you all are, but if you are, then you are already glorified in the heavenly realm. You are already perfected in the heavenly realm.
So our proclamation talking about the king, we're going back to the topic here. [00:32:00] The gospel of the kingdom is what I'm talking about after the resurrection. Alright? Before the resurrection, Jesus said, I'm the king. You need to look at things differently and follow me.
After the resurrection, Jesus said, I have all authority now in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all nations, teaching 'em to observe everything that I've commanded you. So in other words, make all the nations come under my headship in my kingdom. As the king's ambassadors, therefore, we invite and even compel all people to transfer their allegiance from Satan's kingdom to Jesus's kingdom of light, blessing and immortality.
His kingdom will cast down every ungodly throne, idol and ungodly tradition. Allegiance is demanded. Repentance, faith, [00:33:00] and loyalty to Jesus is what's expected by God for people to do.
In return, they receive forgiveness, spiritual life, peace, and power, with signs confirming the message, which are healings, miracles, deliverances, and provision, supernatural provision.
Those who refuse to come under Jesus's lordship, choosing rather to remain in Satan's kingdom, will condemn themselves. And remember, Jesus is the judge because he's the son of man.
Here's five essential components of the gospel of the kingdom.
1. First the divine king Jesus is enthroned at the Father's right hand.
2. Second allegiance is demanded. I'm gonna go back over these, and give you a little bit of verses to back it up. But I'll give you the five first.
So first, Jesus is enthroned at the Father's right hand. Second allegiance is demanded.
3. Third, [00:34:00] receive life in God's Spirit.
4. Fourth, God's power validates the message.
5. And fifth, judgment is coming. So be ready.
All right, so this is the gospel of the kingdom. First, divine king Jesus is enthroned at the Father's right hand.
We've already read that many times in these verses. Ephesians 1:16-23. I don't think we've read that one before. Paul prayed that he does not cease to give thanks for them remembering them in his prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the spirit of wisdom and our revelation in the knowledge of him having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe according to the working of his great might, that he worked in Christ when he raised [00:35:00] him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places. Okay, there's that one.
He seated him in his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion above every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in the one to come. He put all things under his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.
So number one, Jesus is raised from the dead, seated at the Father's right hand in the heavenly places, far above all power and dominion. So any, anything you can think of, any kings, any devil, anything, he's above it all.
The second one, allegiance is demanded. Now that sounds kinda harsh. But I'm gonna read you the verse.
All right. Acts 17:30-31 says The times of ignorance, God [00:36:00] overlooked. But now he commands all people everywhere to repent because he has fixed today on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed. And of this, he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead.
So obviously he's talking about Jesus, right? Who is going to be the judge, and he commands all people everywhere to repent.
Colossians 1:12-13 say, give
You think that we need to explain 'Repent 'cause that's like a churchy word?
I did at the beginning, but go ahead, do it again.
Yeah. So just making sure that we understand repent just means to change our mind to go a different direction. So, this world system, when you look at it, what good does it do you to gain the whole world? So repent means to understand that there's more to life than that, and so to follow God's way rather than what the world teaches.
Turn in a different direction.
Yeah. So all of our [00:37:00] life, we're raised in the world system and we all think about things just like the world does. But when you come to the Lord and you come underneath his kingdom, you have to change the whole perspective on things. There was this like shirts that they used to sell that said the one who dies with the most stuff wins.
And when you think about it, that's really what people are racing for. Yeah. But it is so silly, and I think bill Gates has $138 billion and he's gonna give away 99% of it. He still has $1.3 billion.
Now, which is $1,300 million dollars. Yes. So that's a big sacrifice for him, I'm sure.
Yes. Yeah. All right. So that's where repentance is good. All right.
So God commands everyone, all people everywhere, to repent because he's fixed a day that he's gonna judge the world through Jesus. Colossians 1:12-13 say, giving thanks [00:38:00] to the Father who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.
He has to delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved son. So that's what happens when you become a believer and you're, you are delivered from the domain of Satan's darkness, the world system, and you're transferred into the kingdom of light. The kingdom of Jesus that we're talking about.
A real simple way to think of it is you think because I'm a son of Adam, I'm a sinner. You think, whoa, wait. I didn't do anything to deserve that. I was just born into this system. Then in the same sense Jesus says, you have to be born again. And you say I didn't do anything to be righteous.
I was just born into this thing. It's the same idea. You became a sinner because of where you came from. And now if you're born again in Jesus, you become righteous because of where you came from.
You followed the nature that you were [00:39:00] born into. Yes. You were born of God.
Yes. Begotten again of God. Yes. All right.
Alright, so that was points one and two was divine king Jesus enthroned at the father's right hand. Second one was allegiance is demanded. The third one. Receive life in God's Spirit. John 3:5 says truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.
Acts 1:8, you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, all Judea, Samaria, to the ends of the earth.
Four, God's power validates the message. In Matthew 12:28, If it's by the spirit of God that I cast out demons, Jesus said, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. So the fact that he could cast out demons by the Spirit of God was evidence that the kingdom of God has come in that [00:40:00] situation.
In First Corinthians 2:4-5, Paul said, my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. So our faith isn't dependent on the eloquence of the preacher.
And I'm thankful for that because sometimes this podcast isn't real eloquent and it's not real polished. We're not all sitting here with a suit and tie and we're just regular folks, right? But we're depending on the Spirit of God and the power of the Spirit, not our eloquence in, all that.
So I have a question for the young men that are sitting with us. Corbin, do you believe because now you're under Jesus, that you have the power to cast out demons?
Yeah. So that's actually [00:41:00] really interesting. What do you have the seven brothers? Where it talks about, they go to cast out demons.
'cause they've seen the apostles do it. And the demon says to him I know Jesus and I know Paul, but I don't know who you are. And it says it beats him until he is naked. Beats all seven of them until they're naked, just takes a brutal beating. So under the spirit of God, I do believe we have to cast out demons, but you have to be completely faithful.
And what did they do wrong? They're not under the Spirit. What, how did they say it to the demons? How did they cast 'em out? Oh, they sent me this man, but the seven sons of Sciva, what did they say when you were trying to catch the demon?
I'm blanking.
They're not doing it in the name of Jesus. No, they're not. That's the issue. Yeah. So what we have to realize is in biblical speak you're doing things under the order of a king.
And we don't really understand that in our democratic society. 'cause that's not how we do things.
But [00:42:00] the way that, the reason why you say in Jesus' name is because that's where the authority comes from.
Yeah. So if I say be gone in the name of Jesus, it's not me telling you to be gone. It's Jesus as an authority. Because you could look at me and say I can whoop you. Okay can you whoop God? That's where that comes to play.
That's where, where you hear Jesus's disciples when they're first sent out and they're all, Hey, did you see that? We cast out demons. Look, hey, they did exactly what we said. Look how cool we are. Jesus says, yes, that's cool, but what's even cooler is that your name's written in the Lamb's book of life.
For Jesus to call out to a storm and say, be still. And we look at that and say, that's impossible. 'Cause that's in our wisdom.
But Jesus had dominion over the whole earth by the authority that God gave Adam. Yes.
And so because he had that authority, he controlled it, right? And so then because we're in the body, he separated that dominion to each [00:43:00] one of us. So as a body, as the Ecclesia, as the World Church, we have that authority in all of us coming together in one body, right? We are the ones who are to subdue the earth.
And so what Satan's job is then to keep us divided. See what we need to learn from the Tower of Babel idea is God said, since their whole mind is set into one thought, there's nothing we can do. Nothing that they can't do. Nothing that they can't do. And so how do we defeat that?
Separate them, keep 'em from communicating? So then what does that teach us? That teaches us that God actually wants us to be a one mind, because God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are one, because they're one mind. And so Paul teaches over and over again that the church is supposed to be of one mind. That is actually what the Kingdom of Heaven is, it's a whole bunch of people from every nation, tongue, [00:44:00] ethnicity, gender, all speaking of one mind, all working as of one mind, for one purpose.
Psalm 133. Yeah. How good and how blessed it is when brothers dwell together immunity. Yes. Which the church used to be that way until sin got into it with Anani firearm.
And then the church split and was corrupted, I guess would be the word. Eh, I can't think of a better way to put it. So people were afraid in the church, I guess is better way to put it. It was no longer the piece of we're all in common. We all together in one mind. They were then afraid of the. Yeah. Consequence.
They lied. They lied to God. Yeah. And so God, judgment and fear fell upon the whole congregation as a result. Yeah.
Just like when Uriah touched [00:45:00] the ark trying to steady it, and it was struck down and fear fell upon everybody. So sometimes, CS Lewis wrote, Aslan is not a tame lion.
Yeah, exactly. Yes. And so that also teaches us maybe we're not always meant to be tame Christians.
Yeah. All right. So the fifth thing in the five points of the gospel of the kingdom, the fifth component is judgment is coming. So be Ready. Acts 17:31, God has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed. And of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead.
So judgment is coming. And as we learned earlier Jesus said he was going to call forth the dead out of the graves, and he had the right to do that because he was the son of man. Going back to Daniel. All right, so [00:46:00] just a recap. The essential components of the gospel of the kingdom:
Jesus is enthroned at the Father's right hand.
Allegiance is demanded.
Receive life, and then God's Spirit.
God's power validates the message.
And lastly is, judgment is coming. So be ready.
Now, a good example of this gospel of the kingdom is in this book "Prem, An Apostles Triumphant Witness for Christ in Nepal." I recommend everybody to read it.
I want to read one paragraph out of it.
Prem was a military officer in India that got saved and became a believer. And then he was from Nepal. He was a Ghurka, which are elite soldiers in India. Anyway, he went to Nepal and became a minister, a preacher, and he spent a lot of time in prison because preaching the gospel and [00:47:00] people changing their religion was against the law.
He actually went to 14 different prisons throughout the years, and every convert that he made faced one year in prison for changing their religion. The sentence was six years for preaching the gospel and getting someone to change their religion.
Oh wow. He wrote this, I'm here to bear witness to the heavenly kingdom. We are the kingdom of God. And although we maintain loyalty and citizenship to the earthly kingdom where we live, we feel we cannot, in any way cover up or hide the fact that we belong to Christ.
And he has called us to be witnesses of his incarnation, his crucifixion for our sins, his resurrection, his ascension, and soon coming in power and great glory as King of kings and Lord of Lords. So, when they baptized people in Nepal, he baptized [00:48:00] hundreds, but before he did every one, he would ask them three questions.
1. Do you believe in Jesus?
2. Are you willing to follow him if your mother and father and everyone else abandons you?
3. And third, are you willing to go to prison for your faith?
So before you baptize him, they had to answer yes to all three questions. It's all in the book, so it's worth reading.
The Parable of Wheat and Tares
All right, so the Parable of the Tares gives us an illustration of what I think is gonna happen in the end time. Xavier. Do you know the story? Which one? The parable of the Tares. Wheat and Tares. The wheat tares? Wheat and Tares. Oh, the wheat and the weeds.
A man comes in at night, sows weeds into the wheat field, and, the people notice them, the workers and the field notice them and go to their master and ask if they should uproot them. And the master says, no, leave them for you. Might also uproot the good seed. [00:49:00] And so they wait until it is harvest time and they take all the weeds and bundle them up first and take and burn them.
Then they bundle up the weed and take it into his bar. Good job. All right. So that's a good telling of the story. Yeah. I just hadn't heard that word used for weeds before. So I was trying to figure out which story you were talking about. Tares. Yeah. Tares is a King James word, I think.
But anyway the weed and the tares, the weed and the weeds grow together. Okay. And until they mature. And again, if you're not a farmer. Then you don't realize that the wheat and the weeds look a lot alike. Yeah.
Alright. So the angels remove the weeds or the tares first.
And Jesus said that will purify the kingdom because when the tares are taken out of the kingdom, then the righteous are gonna shine like lights. So I believe that is talking about the end time persecution [00:50:00] in the body of Christ, the church. And persecution is a refining fire. It's going to leave the people who are shining saints behind, whereas it's gonna take out the people who are not serious.
So in, Prem's instance, it's a great story as far as if you're in Nepal at this time, there's no faking it. Yeah, exactly. I mean it's, in the United States you can easily fake it. Yeah. Now, easily fake it. A lot of people you're not gonna fake it in Nepal 'cause you're going to prison or killed or whatever the case may be.
Your whole family's gonna disown you. That's this situation here is that the weeds are pretending to be wheat. That's the whole point of it.
I want to talk about the prison in Nepal, the price that these people had to pay.
And they all knew it because they lived there, but the prison there had dirt floor. And it was just like a, we think of a concrete block building with a dirt floor and [00:51:00] no heat, no air conditioning. They're in the Himalayan Mountains, so you can imagine how cold it's gonna get in the wintertime.
No heat, no air conditioning in the summer and on a dirt floor. I don't think they're given any food. It tells all the details in the book about what it's like, no bathroom, they're given a little bit of water every day, and I think their family has to actually bring in food. So it's terrible.
Challenge to Modern Christianity
It's not like an American prison, all right. So confronting today's mindset. Today, most Christians are like tourists waiting for death, or the rapture. After which they hope to go to heaven. They're just waiting. We're not really doing anything. Going to church. We're , being nice to people and we're hoping to go to heaven or get raptured before the tribulation.
This passive attitude of coexistence is an unspoken truce with the devil. [00:52:00] If we don't bother him, he doesn't bother us, is what they're thinking. But as ambassadors of the king, our job is to take people from the devil's Kingdom, not to peacefully coexist with the Satanic world system around us. Our job is to take what is his into the kingdom.
The great commission. Huh? The great commission. Exactly.
And not to just coexist and try to have a good life, until we die. That's not our calling.
If you've ever dealt with a bully, you can't coexist. Yeah. You're either gonna do what they say or you're gonna fight back. . And so what Christ did is he fought back, but he didn't fight back in the way that the world fights back.
He fought back with love. Yeah. And he said, if somebody hits you on the right side, turn to their left side. Don't play their game.
As I was studying this, that brings up a thought, and that is that the Beatitudes of Matthew chapters five through seven, the sermon on Mount, [00:53:00] is the constitution of the kingdom of God.
And I think that's a good statement. It is a much higher level of law than the Mosaic law, or any other law because it actually becomes heartfelt. Yeah. That's also something you can't fake it. 'cause he talks about how you think. Not just the outward appearance of something.
Exactly. It's where your heart is because out of the abundance of the heart and mouth speaks. So, yes, God isn't a God of fake. He's a god of real. Yeah. So when I tell people how do you pray? Be real. Be where you're at, and if you log your prayers, you'll notice how you change because the Holy Spirit will change you.
If you're truly walking through it and being real with God and not faking it, but really want to be a son or daughter of God, that's what he wants to do. That's, he [00:54:00] knows you. He knows who you are. And on your worst day, he died for you. That's what Roman says. And Jesus, when he's on the cross, forgive them for they know not what they do.
Yeah. So it, it is that idea of being real and not fake, that the Bible says over and over again, now, I want mercy, not sacrifice. Yeah.
Yeah. Every time I pray the Lord's Prayer, and I get to that part where it says, forgive us our debt says we forgive our debtors or trespasses if you're a Catholic, but I always think about that, saying yep, am I forgiving everyone else the way I wanna be forgiven? And it's a challenge.
I can't remember, there's a famous pastor, historical pastor that talks about forgiveness, and he says, when somebody comes to you for forgiveness just know that you're way worse than they think you are. So if you're thinking about whether you should forgive somebody or not, just know that you're way worse than they think you are. Yeah.
[00:55:00] What is a story that's told where, I forget exactly how it goes with a man who's forgiven a lot of, A lot goes to the man who owes him little and doesn't give him forgiveness.
Oh, yeah. He's owed like 10 talents by somebody after he is forgiven 10,000 by the king of the kingdom. And the king says since you were greedy for your 10 talents after being forgiven, you 10,000, pay me back and then some. Yeah.
Makes sense. The prison until he pays every bid. Yes.
Yeah. Yep. All right. So the final challenge, Matthew 24:14, the gospel of the kingdom will be preached to all nations and then the end will come.
So are you passively waiting with your ticket to heaven, or are you serving the king as his ambassador? Here's a proclamation that I made up of the gospel of the kingdom that covers all the five components that I [00:56:00] just mentioned.
Final Proclamation of the Kingdom Gospel
So it starts people of every nation. Listen, the living God has acted in history. He has sent his son Jesus the Messiah. Though he was crucified by the rulers of this age, God raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand, far above all rule and authority. This Jesus is Lord of heaven and earth.
The kingdom of God is now broken into the world. It is no longer far away. It is here confronting every throne, every idol, every heart, every church tradition. You must choose where your allegiance lies. Repent, turn away from the rule of sin, self, and Satan. Believe the good news that forgiveness and eternal life are found in Jesus Christ.
Bow to him as king and he will fill you with his Spirit, giving you power to live in righteousness, freedom, and hope. Look around [00:57:00] when the sick are healed and the oppressed are set free, when sins are forgiven, when peace overcomes fear, these are signs that the kingdom of God has come among you. But know this, the king will return in glory.
He will judge the nations, restore creation, and reign forever. The kingdoms of this world will become the kingdoms of our Lord and of his Christ. So today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your heart. The kingdom of God is drawing near to you. Enter in before the door is shut.
I think, an important passage to close with, like it encompasses what you're saying.
So Matthew 24:45-51, it says the faithful servant is blessed because he is found doing his master's will when the master returns and we just talked about today what the master's will is. Yeah. And the evil servant says in his heart, my master is delayed and begins to beat his fellow servants and eat and drink with the drunkards.[00:58:00]
So he goes back to live in the world system and the master comes unexpectedly and assigns him a place with the hypocrites and the place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
So that's exactly what you just summed up. Jesus told us the same thing in the parable.
So my second book, Martyrs and Miracles.
Talks about the great tribulation. And in that book I dramatize what we're talking about today, what I call the gospel ultimatum, where God sends the people out all around the world, every nation, every people, and tells 'em, follow the Holy Spirit, follow Jesus as your king, and turn away from the world.
And everyone has to make that choice, everyone in the whole world, in the book. And that's what's gonna happen in our world too. This gospel of the kingdom will be preached to the whole world [00:59:00] and then the end will come. People need to think about it.
So once again, if Angel Studios is watching, make a great movie.
All right. So anything else? I don't think so. Think it sums it up? Great. God bless everybody. Walk in faith. Amen. Amen.
Jesus said, this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed in all the world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. Every person chooses which kingdom they'll serve, the kingdom of darkness and death, or the kingdom of light and life. This decision carries everlasting consequences. The end of Satan's world system is near.
But first, the gospel of God's kingdom must be proclaimed to every person, so don't live like a tourist waiting for the resurrection. Proclaim the Gospel of God's kingdom from now until the King returns. We invite you to subscribe for future episodes of the End-Time-Disciples podcast. Until next time, stand in [01:00:00] faith.
